Texas Nano Meets Belgium Vino
January 22, 2010 - Houston
On January 22nd,The Belgian Trade Commission and The Consulate of Belgium have run an exclusive and informative event called "Texas Nano Meets Belgium Vino" that brought together world-class leading scientists and top-notch representatives of the local oil & gas, as well as of the petrochemical industry.
Our guest speakers, Dr Wade Adams, Director of the Richard E. Smalley Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology at Rice University and Dr. Vicki Colvin, Director of the Biological and Environmental Nanotechnology Center ( http://cben.rice.edu ) kindly agreed to make a presentation on the situation of nanotechnologies in Texas and the US. They also called on the Belgian Industrialists based in Texas to help support the Texas Nanotech Initiative.
The Nanotech presentation was followed by an introduction of the Belgian American Chamber of Commerce by Kristof Abbeloos, one of our prominent Belgian citizens in Houston, who is currently in charge of Business Development with Shell Trading in Houston while promoting the creation of a local chapter of the BACC.
We can't thank enough the Consulate of Belgium for hosting the event, the attendees for participating and raising numerous challenging questions, and our outstanding speakers for their enlightening presentations.
Companies represented at the event: Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Halliburton, Bayer Material Science LLC, Solvay Chemicals and Crispin.

Nanotech Conference & Expo 2009
